Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will reveal what Jessica Jones has been up to since we last saw her in the final season of her namesake show.
Jones, who will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in the Disney+ series’ next chapter, has not been seen since her eponymous television series ended in mid-2019. However, last July, Marvel confirmed that Jones would appear in Daredevil: Born Again‘s second season – and, even more pleasant news for the audience, it will once again be played by Krysten Ritter.
Now, speaking on the latest edition of the Official Marvel Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Head of Television and Animation at Marvel, revealed Born again season 2 will catch us up on what Jones has been up to in the nearly seven years since he last appeared on our screens.
“It was so exciting when she [Ritter] I walked on set for the first time in a leather jacket and boots,” Winderbaum exclaimed. “You’re like ‘there she is.’
“I’m not going to spoil anything, but what’s really fun about this character is the time jump since we last saw her,” he continued. “It’s been a while, so we’re reestablishing this character and catching the audience up on what she’s been up to, and it’s been filled with a lot of really cool surprises.”

As expected, the last part of Winderbaum’s response got tongues wagging among Marvel fans about what he was teasing. And, in the hours since this episode of the podcast was released, listeners have come up with a big theory about Jones ahead of the next chapter of DaredevilThe small screen production of.

In the source material, Jones and another superpowered individual, Luke Cage, end up having a child – a daughter named Danielle – together. Danielle is a relatively recent addition to Marvel Comics’ ever-growing roster of characters, with the pair’s offspring debuting in “The Pulse #3” in January 2006.
Now this is not a confirmation that Born again season 2 will reveal that Jones is now a mom. However, in season 1 of his Netflix television series, co-produced by now-defunct Marvel Television, Jones and Cage – the latter played by Mike Colter – were romantically involved for a time before breaking up.
The duo reunited in the 2018 crossover series The defenderswhich saw them help Daredevil and Iron Fist defeat The Hand before going their separate ways again. Then, before Jessica Jones wrapped its third and final season, Colter starred as Cage in its eighth episode, which revealed the duo were still on good terms.
Considering the couple’s romantic history in the comics, the cordial status of their dynamic before the end of Netflix’s Marvel-Verse, And With ongoing rumors that Colter will also return as Cage in the Marvel Phase 6 project, fans have speculated that we will soon learn that they are an item again.
Following Winderbaum’s new comments, MCU fans are also increasingly convinced that one of the “very interesting surprises” he’s referring to is that they will become Danielle’s parents.
