ISLAMABAD:

Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said on Friday that agriculture remained a major component of Pakistan’s trade as the country saw a significant increase in its agricultural exports last year, with exports increasing by around $3 billion to $3.5 billion from the previous year.

Responding to a notice of appeal moved by Ms. Aliya Kamran, Ms. Naeema Kishwar Khan, Ms. Shahida Begum and Muhammad Usman Badini in the National Assembly, the minister said the growth of agricultural exports was largely driven by favorable international market conditions and prompt response from Pakistani exporters.
