Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, got married to Shanza Ali in a nikkah ceremony held in Lahore on Saturday.
The nikah was performed by the sajjada nashin of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani shrine, while the consent of the bride was obtained by Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi.
For the ceremony, Junaid wore an ivory sherwani paired with a golden turban, while the bride was dressed in a traditional pink outfit, complemented by jewelry.

A large number of political leaders and family members attended the ceremony, including his parents, Junaid’s grandfather, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, CM Maryam, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, senior PML-N leaders, and several foreign guests.
The Valima ceremony is expected to take place on Sunday at Jati Umra Farms, where around 800 guests have been invited. Prime Minister Shehbaz, federal and provincial ministers, senior political figures and foreign guests are expected at the reception.

The couple’s mehndi ceremony took place on Friday at Jati Umra, in the presence of close family members and guests. On this occasion, Junaid wore a deep navy traditional kurta with gold buttons, paired with a golden brown shawl draped over his shoulder.
It is worth noting that this is Junaid’s second marriage. He had previously married Ayesha Saif Khan in 2021, and the marriage ended in separation after two years, in 2023.
