CDF pays tribute to police martyrs and calls for stronger partnerships with law enforcement

Chief of Defense Force Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday visited the National Police Academy in Islamabad, where he held talks with Pakistan Police officers.

On arrival, Marshal Munir was welcomed by the Commandant of the National Police Academy and a guard of honor was presented by a police contingent. He laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Monument and offered Fateha, paying tribute to the police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty while working to maintain peace, uphold the rule of law and ensure public safety.

He recognized the sacrifices made by police personnel to combat terrorism, crime and internal security challenges.

During the visit, the Marshal received a briefing on the High Impact Elite Law Enforcement Development School and other police training programs focused on capacity building and force modernization. He also held discussions with Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), during which he reiterated the role of the police as the first line of defense in protecting the lives, property and dignity of citizens.

In a meeting with Inspectors General of Police (IGPs), Additional IGPs and senior police officials, Marshal Munir highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration, modern policing techniques and strengthening public confidence in law enforcement. He stressed the need for a strong, professional and community-oriented police force to ensure internal security and uphold the rule of law.

Senior police leaders, in turn, reaffirmed their commitment to improving policing standards, increasing professional capacity and pursuing institutional reforms necessary to address current security challenges.
