ISLAMABAD:
The ECP has reinstated 23 additional legislators from the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies following the submission of their annual statements of assets and liabilities for the financial year 2024-25.
The restored lawmakers include two senators, 11 members of the National Assembly, three members each of the Punjab, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assemblies, and one member of the Balochistan Assembly.
The parliamentarians were suspended on January 16 for failing to meet the mandatory disclosure deadline of December 31, as stipulated in section 137 of the 2017 electoral law.
