- Casio could soon release a new G-Shock watch called GM-H5600
- This could combine in-depth health measures with a metal frame
- It could launch as early as mid-2026, leak suggests
Casio’s G-Shock is one of the most recognizable watches on the planet – and now a new leak suggests that a new model, potentially from Casio’s G-Squad range, could soon be arriving with some highly requested features.
The leak first surfaced on Japanese site Great G-Shock World. There, it is claimed that a new Casio G-Shock device (with model number GM-H5600) has appeared in several certification databases in Asia. Its inclusion in these databases implies that the product is undergoing final certification and that a launch could be imminent.
According to Great G-Shock World, the leaked device could combine the health metrics found in Casio’s DW-H5600 – including the optical heart rate monitor – with a metal casing like that of the GM-5600 watch. This could help it combine popular features found in each device, breaking into new territory and bringing it much closer to the best smartwatches than Casio products have traditionally done.
Health features could go beyond an optical heart rate monitor. Great G-Shock World lists other expected features, including “daily health management” tools such as pedometers and blood oxygen level measurements, as well as sleep monitoring and workout analysis.
As suggested by Wareable, the device’s features could parallel those of the DW-H5600, including blood oxygen (SpO2) measurement, life log activity tracking, interval and running modes, and much more.
When will we see this device?
As Great G-Shock World says, “the GM-H5600 has already been registered with the Asian certification body a few months ago, and there is no doubt that it is about to be released.” Although no specific date has been found, the site estimates that the product could appear “during the first half of 2026, as early as spring and summer.”
As for the price, it is much less clear. The Casio DW-H5600 currently costs $299 (around £220 / AU$440), but it’s unclear whether the upcoming GM-H5600 will be similarly priced.
Still, by combining health and fitness metrics with a sturdier chassis, the GM-H5600 could appeal to a group of users who weren’t wowed by either the DW-H5600 or GM-5600. With a release seemingly just a few months away, we apparently won’t have to wait long to find out.
