The National Assembly was informed during question time on Thursday that the relevant authorities had blocked 6.5 million blasphemous and obscene messages in a single year. The issue was raised by PPP lawmaker Syed Hussain Tariq.
He said that despite millions of websites being blocked by the web monitoring system, online scam websites remain active.
He said parliamentarians were still receiving messages through these fraudulent platforms and asked what action had been taken.
