Sindh government announces measures to promote cinema and theater industry

The Sindh government has accelerated its efforts to promote the film, theater and documentary industries, Express News reported on Wednesday.

A meeting of the Content and Production Monitoring Board, chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, was held to discuss promoting local talents, creating public awareness and creating a narrative against extremism. The decision was made to encourage artists and playwrights in these fields.

Sharjeel Memon announced special measures for new writers and creative production houses, saying financial assistance would be provided to help them complete their projects.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Information Secretary Nadeem ur Rehman Memon, Director General Public Relations Saleem Khan and other senior officials including board members Qazi Asad Abid, Warda Saleem and Azan Sami Khan.

During the meeting, DG PR informed the members of the objectives and political orientations of the management board. The members presented their suggestions for promoting new talents and reviewing the projects of production houses. It was decided that the outline of the production houses’ projects will be requested at the next meeting.

Yesterday, Sharjeel Inam Memon stressed the need to prioritize safety and public awareness, saying road accidents claim lives and cause disabilities, emphasizing the importance of serving humanity.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Consumer Road Safety Awards organized by the Consumers Association of Pakistan, he lauded the initiative for its efforts to save lives and promote road safety.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday termed the Sindh government’s Private Partnership (PPP) model as a “successful economic framework” that could also strengthen the national economy.

Chairing a meeting at Bilawal House regarding PPP projects in Sindh, Bilawal highlighted that the Sindh government was improving the quality of life of citizens in various sectors, ranging from healthcare to infrastructure, through these innovative partnerships.

According to a statement issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, the PPP Chairman was briefed on various PPP projects aimed at improving infrastructure in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries and electronic vehicle charging.
