Louis Tomlinson is honest about the journey behind “How Did I Get Here?” »

Louis Tomlinson explains why he titled his new album How did I get here?

Breaking down the meaning behind the name of his third solo album, the former One Direction star reflected on fame, fear and the role his fans played in his journey during a conversation on Zach Blood Show.

“I was playing around with several different songs for the album, but none had the scope I wanted,” explained the 34-year-old English singer-songwriter. “I wanted a title that had enough meaning and importance.”

His response came after host Zach Sang asked if the album title was related to when he performed and sang Adele’s song and the fear of going on stage. “Does that mean how I got here?” he asked.

“A little, a little,” said the X Factor UK the judge responded. “It’s more, I interpret the album as a statement, and like in Northern English I would imagine it as how did I get in?”

“And it’s more than just a statement, you look around and, you know, there are so many times in my career where I’ve been surprised by that,” he explained.

How did I get here? an album of 12 tracks, was released on January 23.

It contains the previously released first single Lemonadeas well as Dark to Light, a moving tribute to Louis’ former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne.
