Wonderful manthe first Marvel TV series of the year is almost here. Indeed, with Wonderful man Set to release on Disney+ on January 27 or 28 – depending on where you live – there’s not much time left to brush up on your Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) homework.
Granted, you don’t need to watch just one Marvel movie or TV show to enjoy it. Wonderful man because it’s a largely self-contained story. However, there are story- and character-based connections to other MCU productions, so they’re worth watching if you need to remember who certain people are and/or want to know what’s happened in the MCU before. Wonderful man. So, read on to see which movies and shows you should see before they premiere on Disney+.
Which MCU Movies Should I Stream Before Wonder Man?
Before the Marvel Phase 6 series arrives, there are four movies you’ll want to watch.
The first two – those from 2013 Iron Man 3 and 2021 Shang Chi – are required viewings because of Trevor Slattery. A washed-up actor and former drug addict played by British icon Ben Kingsley, he is not only a prominent figure in the aforementioned films, but also the co-lead of The wonderful man. So, it is necessary to watch these movies on Disney+, aka one of the best streaming services in the world, to better understand who Slattery is before. Wonderful man is released.
As for the other two films, they are led by Spider-Man and could be considered essential for anyone wanting more information on the Department of Damage Control (DoDC).
This US-funded government agency monitors enhanced individuals it considers a threat to the North American superpower. The DoDC debuted in the MCU in 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming and later appeared in 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Granted, DoDC has a small role to play in these films, so they’re not essential if you don’t want to sit through nearly five hours of storytelling. You can probably also just watch the required scenes on YouTube, if you can’t commit to streaming Tom Holland’s first and third standalone MCU entries.
What Marvel TV shows should I stream before Wonder Man launches?
Two live-action Disney+ series and a short TV movie are worth looking at for more context on the DoDC and Slattery.

Finally, you’ll want to watch the Marvel One-Shot titled All hail the king.
