King Charles and Queen Camilla return to Bruckingham Palace in tears

King Charles and Queen Camilla took concrete action to wipe away the tears of survivors and their loved ones at Buckingham Palace.

The royal couple looked somber as they returned to the palace for a special reception, attending a candlelight ceremony to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

The annual commemoration falls on January 27, coinciding with the date of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

They lit candles as a symbolic act of remembrance and hope for the future.

This year’s celebration focuses on the theme Connecting Generations, encouraging young people to absorb and pass on the lessons of this dark chapter in history.

This day remembers the six million victims, as well as the millions more who perished during this time.

During the reception, guests were able to admire portraits of seven survivors who were honored for their service to awareness and education.

These paintings were commissioned by Charles as Prince of Wales and are currently on display in the East Wing of Buckingham Palace.
