Size isn’t necessarily something that defines a player’s career, but it is something that teams consider when making their draft selections. The average height of an NFL quarterback is between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 3 inches. Bryce Young and Kyler Murray are among the shortest quarterbacks in the NFL at 5-foot-10.

Pavie didn’t seem too concerned about his vital signs when he spoke to reporters Monday.

“Yes, my height has been questioned my whole life,” he said via AL.com. “I feel like the only thing the NFL cares about is being able to win, and I consider myself a winner. I’ve been lucky with all the great teams I’ve had – we’ve never had a losing season. So that’s something to look forward to, hopefully, for the rest of my career, that’s how it’s going to be.

“I feel like God has blessed me in a lot of ways to be a connector, and I feel like that’s one of my superpowers that I have: I can connect. We come together, and then once you come together, you want to play for each other, and once you give 120 percent effort, no one can stop your team.”

Heart and enthusiasm is something Pavia has shown during his time with Vanderbilt.

He totaled 2,293 passing yards and 20 touchdown passes in 2024 in his first season with Vanderbilt after transferring from New Mexico State. Vanderbilt was 7-6 and had a major victory against Alabama.
