King Charles took care of some important matters upon his return to the United Kingdom from his stay in Scotland alongside Queen Camilla.
While Charles returned to London briefly while Prince Harry was still in town for his trial against the publisher of the Daily Mail, the two did not meet.
The King and Queen had arrived at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to mark the poignant Holocaust Remembrance Day, after which they separated to attend to their individual duties.
Charles has always been passionate about environmental issues and he instilled these values in his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Despite their family tensions, all three pursue the cause in their own way.
After the success of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize and his collaboration with numerous community charities in Brazil last year, the king appears to be stepping up his own efforts for the cause of nations in need of environmental protection.
Charles held a private audience with the President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, at Buckingham Palace. During the meeting, they discussed climate action and their ongoing collaborations on the issue.
The president released a statement after the meeting: “Today I met with His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, where we discussed our ongoing collaborations in the areas of environmental protection, biodiversity and climate action.
Last year, Prince William launched an ambitious collaboration, partnering with several organizations to strengthen protections for indigenous peoples and conservationists throughout the Brazilian Amazon. In addition, Duchess Sophie also took a trip to South America for the same purpose.
It is possible that the king is considering something similar for Guyana.
