Wonderful manShowrunner Wondered If New Marvel TV Series Holds Events Spider-Man: A Whole New Day.
Before Wonderful man premiered on Disney+, I sat down with Andrew Guest to discuss the comic book giant’s latest TV offering. And given that Guest co-created the series alongside Destin Daniel Cretton, who is also the director of Spider-Man’s next big screen adventure, I had to find out if Wonderful man sets up discussion threads that are part of Brand new dayThe overall story of.
Full spoilers immediately follow For Wonderful man. Possible spoilers are also discussed For Spider-Man 4.
Since Spidey cannot appear in live-action shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) without the agreement of rights holders Sony, it was almost impossible for him to make an unexpected appearance in Wonderful man. And, with all eight episodes of the Marvel TV show airing in their entirety on launch day (January 27/28), we can confirm that Tom Holland’s wallcrawler does not appear in Wonderful man.
Still, there are signs that the MCU projects share some connective tissue, the main link uniting the two projects. Marvel Phase 6 TV Show and Spider-Man 4 together they form the Department of Damage Control (DoDC).
Remember, the DoDC first appeared in an MCU production in 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming. The group was briefly in 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Homealso, with Agent Cleary, who also appears in Wonderful manquestioning Parker and his friends after that ends in 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The DoDC doesn’t seem to be done monitoring Spider-Man either. Leaked videos from Spider-Man 4 filmed in late 2025 appears to show the titular hero dodging DoDC agents during a chase sequence and, later, Spider-Man fleeing from gun-wielding DoDC agents on a rooftop.
With Wonderful man continuing the US agency’s pursuit and/or imprisonment of enhanced beings it deems to be a threat to public safety, it is clear that these projects are closely related due to the DoDC’s involvement in their respective histories. However, while Guest seemed to suggest that this might be the case, he did not directly confirm that the events described in Wonderful man will impact the story told in Brand new day.

“I mean, it’s a possibility,” Guest replied when I asked if the two projects Cretton developed were connected. “I haven’t seen any material for Spider-Man 4 [but] I know Destin was a fan of the work we did on Wonderful manso it’s natural to think that some of these ideas might have come to his mind when he and the writer began working on the script for Spider-Man 4.
“I think it’s very possible that the DoDC could get in there,” he continued. “You know, they were also Spider Man 3so it makes sense, but we’ll have to wait and see [how connected these productions might be]”.
