President Asif Ali Zardari expresses grief, calls Chaudhry’s services to politics ‘invaluable’

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry’s lawyer passed away on Saturday at the age of 71 following a prolonged illness.
Chaudhry also served as Prime Minister of AJK from 1996 to 2001. Additionally, he served as Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party of AJK from 1991 to 2001.
PPP Chairman and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari expressed grief over the death while terming the deceased’s national and political services as “invaluable”.

Senate President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also expressed sadness over the death, calling Chaudhry a wise, dignified and principled politician. “Advocate Sultan Mehmood played a key role in effectively highlighting the Kashmir issue on the international stage,” he said.
Gilani added: “His services to AJK will always be remembered. His political struggle remains a beacon for future generations.”
His official Facebook page had denied rumors about his state of health on January 10 and claimed that he was better than before.
