Said his father was held in solitary confinement for 914 days and had no access to independent medical care.
Kasim Khan, son of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, speaks during an interview with an American media outlet on July 30, 2025.
Kasim Khan, the son of imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, on Wednesday again accused the government of deliberately refusing to process his and his brother’s visa to prevent the siblings from meeting their father.
Imran has been imprisoned since August 2023 and is currently serving a sentence in Adiala Prison in a £190 million corruption case. Additionally, he faces ongoing trials under the anti-terrorism law related to the May 9, 2023 protests. The party has in recent days expressed concern over Imran’s health and demanded treatment by its own team of doctors.
Last year, Imran’s sister Aleema Khan had told reporters that Sulaiman Khan and Kasim would take part in a protest planned for August 5, 2025. Later, it was reported that Imran had said that her sons would not come to Pakistan to join the protest. The brothers then held meetings with key figures in the United States.

However, the issue also sparked reactions from the government. The prime minister’s political adviser Rana Sanaullah warned that Imran’s sons, who reside in the UK with their mother Jemima Goldsmith, would be arrested if they took part in the protest.
In an article on X Today, Kasim said: “My brother and I are trying to get to Pakistan to see our father. For 914 days he has been held in solitary confinement as his health deteriorates and he has no access to independent medical care. Today, the government is deliberately refusing to process our visas.
He said that denying a prisoner cruel treatment was cruel and that denying his children the right to see him was collective punishment.
“I call on international human rights organizations and governments to speak out and take action before irreversible harm is caused.”

Two days earlier, the PTI had claimed, citing a report, that the government had decided to deny visa approval to Imran’s sons in order to prevent access to him. According to a source at the Interior Ministry, “they will not receive a visa. The decision has been made. The government only wants to delay the decision as long as possible without actually announcing it.”
The report claimed the government planned to deny visas on technical grounds – such as failing to disclose recent travel to the UAE – rather than rejecting outright.
Sulaiman and Kasim have previously called for international attention to what they call their father’s “inhumane” incarceration, in particular calling on US President Donald Trump to use his influence to support his release.

The brothers previously said they were forced to speak out due to the desperate circumstances surrounding their father’s detention.
