The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released new surveillance footage of a possible suspect in the case of Nancy Gutherie.
The footage shows an armed, masked figure tampering with the security camera at Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona residence.
The 84-year-old author and mother of BNC “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie disappeared a week ago.
The FBI released black-and-white photos and videos recovered from residual data from the home’s Nest camera system.
The person appeared wearing gloves, a mask, sneakers and a backpack at Guthrie’s front door on February 1, 2026.
Speaking to
“The video was retrieved from residual data located in the backend systems,” he added.
Regarding the recovery of the footage, he wrote: “Working with our partners, as of this morning, law enforcement discovered these new, previously inaccessible images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera outside Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her disappearance. »
As seen in the footage, the character used foliage to destroy the camera lens.
The release of the latest footage marks a major development in the intensive search for Guthrie, who is believed to have disappeared after failing to attend virtual church services.
Search teams treated her Pima County home as a crime scene, noting that her purse, phone and essential medications had been left behind.
