I’m sure people who spend their lives attending marketing meetings are very familiar with the kind of high-performance language used in this game, but it left me a little flabbergasted. Usually with Strands, once I start searching, the momentum carries me forward and I work my way through the letters to find all the words.
Today was different. After spotting PIVOTAL and RISKY, I had a good idea of what the theme meant but still had trouble coming up with other words.
Fortunately, a clue gave me CRITICAL, which helped me see the “stakes” and then “high” to form the spangram HIGHSTAKES.
