LAHORE: A day after Pakistan team lost to India in T20 World Cup 2026, sources said PK Press Club News Monday that the team management is disappointed with the performance of the senior players.

The management, they added, is considering benching Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Namibia match.

Two to three changes are likely in the squad for the Namibia match, the sources said, adding that the management is considering changing the bench strength to prove themselves.

While preparations for the next match have already begun, the Green Shirts spokesperson said that the players will rest today.

Pakistan’s crucial match against Namibia takes place at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground on Wednesday, and a victory is essential for the 2009 champions to secure their place in the Super Eight stage.

However, even a rain-affected result would be enough to see them progress.

Speculation over the changes follows a disappointing performance with both bat and ball against arch rivals India on Sunday.

Choosing to field first on a spin-friendly surface, Pakistan’s strategy unfolded in a blistering half-century as Ishan Kishan propelled India to 175 for five.

The spinning attack, on which the team had pinned its hopes, had a difficult afternoon. Abrar Ahmed proved expensive, conceding 38 runs from his three overs, while Shadab Khan was caught for 17 in a solitary over; neither managed to take a wicket.

Captain Salman Ali Agha later described the show as a “day off”. Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of one for 31 from his two overs.

In response, Pakistan’s batting line-up collapsed under the pressure of the chase, folding for just 114 in 18 overs after a disastrous start to the innings.
