Chief of Defense Force (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Monday asserted that the security and stability of the UAE is an integral part of Pakistan’s security, citing deep-rooted historical ties and strong strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, the Army’s media wing said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made the remarks during a meeting with His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor of the UAE.
The ISPR said the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, with special emphasis on economic collaboration, investment and security. Regional developments were also reviewed and the importance of continued coordination to promote peace and stability was highlighted.

Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed “sincere thanks and gratitude to the UAE government for its long-standing investments and continued support for Pakistan’s economy and security over the decades”, noting that such support reflects the depth of bilateral relations, the statement said.
He reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen the strategic partnership with the UAE in all areas, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both nations and contributes to regional peace, stability and prosperity, the statement added.
Earlier, CDF Munir discussed joint efforts with the Saudi Minister of Defense to promote global peace and security. In an article published today on X, Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman said he met with Field Marshal Munir to reaffirm “our strong relations and strategic defense partnership.”

He added: “We discussed our joint efforts to promote global peace and security in a way that serves our common interests.”
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a long-standing strategic and defense cooperation. Last year in September, the two countries signed a “Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement”, stating that “any aggression against either country will be considered an aggression against both.”
The defense agreement reflects the two countries’ common commitment to strengthening their security and establishing security and peace in the region and the world, aiming to develop aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries and strengthen common deterrence against aggression.
The agreement was signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Riyadh, at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
