Highest rainfall of 20mm recorded at Jinnah terminal; hail in airport area, Malir Cantt, Gulistan-e-Johar, Karimabad

Rain and hailstorms, accompanied by thunder and lightning, hit several parts of Karachi on Tuesday.
Rains were reported from Maripur, Mochko, Gulistan-e-Johar, Federal Zone B, Malir, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and University Road, officials said.
Hailstorms were reported in the airport area, Malir Cantt, Gulistan-e-Johar and Karimabad, leading to a noticeable drop in temperature.
The highest rainfall of 20 mm was recorded at Jinnah terminal. Nazimabad received 8.5 mm, University Road 5.8 mm, North Karachi 2.3 mm, Bahria Town 2 mm and Old Airport and Surjani Town 1 mm each.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had forecast light to moderate rain with thunder in Karachi on Tuesday.

Strong winds accompanied the rain, blowing from various directions at speeds of 10 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Humidity was recorded at 91 percent in the morning, with visibility at 600 meters, according to the department. Humidity is expected to be between 45 and 95 percent over the next 24 hours.
The minimum temperature in Karachi on Tuesday was 18.6°C, and on Wednesday it is expected to be between 17°C and 19°C.
The maximum temperature on Monday was 27.7°C, and on Tuesday it is expected to be between 26°C and 28°C.
