Sources said Page sixShe is currently believed to be in the United Arab Emirates after leaving her former residence at the Royal Lodge.
Thames Valley Police, who arrested Andrew early on Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, may seek her advice if she returns to the UK.
Although there is no suggestion Ferguson committed any crimes, a lawyer familiar with the case said she “could be a relevant witness” and could be asked what she knew or communicated in her role as Andrew’s ex-wife.
“Police can call on anyone they deem relevant to the investigation,” the source added, stressing that it would be up to Ferguson to decide if and when she responds.
Ferguson has long supported Andrew, publicly defending him even after he was removed from his royal duties.
Yet a series of emails recently released from the Epstein files have caused further embarrassment.
Apparently, the former duchess asked him for financial help, including requests for employment in her household and even offers of marriage, records allege.
