Nintendo has just released Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (that’s a lot of editions) is now available
  • This version promises 4K resolution up to 60 fps
  • The upgrade is available on the Nintendo eShop, with a physical release planned for April.

In a bit of news that made me pinch myself just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, Nintendo actually shadowdropped the Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Horrible naming convention aside, the Switch 2 edition is now available for digital purchase on the Nintendo eShop. And as always, owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 edition for a small fee. A physical version will also be available on April 16, 2026, and it appears that it will be entirely on the cart, as opposed to a Game-Key Card version.
