Following Shia LaBeouf’s recent arrest during Mardi Gras celebrations, his former partner Mia Goth reportedly urged the actor to seek professional help.
The actress hopes for a positive change in LaBeouf’s life, specifically suggesting that he return to rehab to deal with current personal challenges.
The call for improvement comes as the 39-year-old actor faces new legal troubles in New Orleans.
His mugshot was released Friday by the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office following his February 17 arrest.
Authorities jailed him on two counts of simple battery following an alleged confrontation at the Royal Street Inn & R Bar in the French Quarter.
According to reports, the situation began early Monday evening when the actor allegedly made homophobic slurs inside the venue.
The situation has clearly caused concern for Goth, who parted ways with LaBeouf about a year ago.
The couple, who have had a long and often turbulent romance since meeting in 2012, share a three-year-old daughter named Isabel.
While LaBeouf has previously spoken openly about his journey to sobriety and his recent conversion to Catholicism, this latest incident suggests he may still be struggling.
Just days before his arrest, the actor shared a rare selfie of himself enjoying the carnival festivities.
He later posted a brief “Free me” message on social media after his release from prison.
However, with his court appearance now scheduled for March 19, his loved ones hope he chooses the path to recovery rather than further controversies.
