AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT: release date rumors
While there is no concrete news regarding a release date for the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, rumors are circulating that a general RDNA 4 pre-order date is set for January 23.
The dates reportedly come from B&H Photo publishing early listings for select Asus RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards (TUF and Prime models). Luckily, the listings were captured by longtime hardware leaker @momomo_us before being removed.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT: specifications
There have been no clear leaks, rumors, or reports about the performance of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, or the performance of the RDNA 4 in general. We can, however, assume that the card won’t be a 4K powerhouse thanks to its price range.
Previous hope was that the flagship RDNA 4 GPU would be slightly faster than the 7900 XT. However, it appears to be slightly slower according to All The Watts (but take that with a grain of salt).
While this seems rather risky against Nvidia’s high-end 5000 series cards, not targeting this market makes sense from a business perspective, as the vast majority of gamers play at 1080p resolution, with some games at 1440p . Instead, AMD could reach a much wider target audience overall by reducing performance and therefore price.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT: What to expect
For now, there isn’t much concrete news about the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card and RDNA 4 in general, as AMD didn’t have time to talk about it during its CES conference 2025.
While there are plenty of rumors and a few rare official details, including a possible pre-order date – the latter thanks to an interview and leaks from the retailer – we don’t have a clear idea of what this card will look like at the moment in terms of exact price. price, specifications and performance.
Hopefully, AMD will give us information on the RX 9070 XT and any other RDNA 4-powered graphics cards in the future.
