Breakup Season 2 is finally here, and while there’s plenty to discuss following its Apple TV Plus debut, fans have one big question about Episode 1’s release: Is Keanu Reeves doing an apparition?
Yes, you read that correctly. Breakup fans, myself included, are convinced that Reeves makes an uncredited appearance in Season 2 Episode 1, aka “Hello, Mrs. Cobel.” He doesn’t appear in the flesh, nor does his name appear in the end credits of the popular Apple show. It is therefore difficult to say whether The matrix And John Wick the actor is actually part of the procedure.
So where and how does Reeves apparently appear? Full spoilers immediately follow For Breakupthe season 2 premiere of , so turn back now if you haven’t seen it yet.
If you watched “Hello, Mrs. Cobel,” you will have heard a very familiar voice halfway through Breakupthe last episode of. Indeed, it seems that Reeves’ particularly calming voice can be heard when the Macrodata Refinement (MDR) team sits down to watch the animated “Lumon is Listening” video that Lumon Industries has prepared for them.
During this animated felt puppet show, an anthropomorphic version of the Lumon Building discusses the changes the sinister biotech megacorporation has made under “separation reform.” This is the implementation of a new program that appears to put the well-being of Lumon’s laid-off employees above all else, for those wondering. It’s at this point, in one of the final episodes of the best Apple TV Plus shows, that Reeves is supposed to appear. Indeed, he appears to be the voice of the animated Lumon Building and, as I said, many of us would recognize his voice anywhere.
So, is it really Reeves? At this time I cannot confirm if this is the case. Many of my fellow viewers believe this to be the case, with multiple comments in various Early Season 2 threads on the Reddit pages r/television, r/severance, and r/appletvplus all say the same thing – that is, it must be Reeves because, well, no one d No one else looks like him.
There is a few real proof that it could be Reeves. Earlier today (January 17), Collider published an article featuring quotes from creator Dan Erickson, which appears to confirm that Reeves was asked to voice the Lumon building in the season 2 premiere episode.
Here’s what Erickson said when Collider asked if Reeves was playing the aforementioned character: “All I can say is we’ve talked about several different people for this role. We’ve always I wanted it to be someone that people have certain associations with, but it also had to be a very warm presence. The Lumon building is very friendly in the context of this video, and there is a friendliness in that particular voice and a heart in that particular voice. »
Of course, the fact that Erickson doesn’t deny it means it’s like being Reeves. However, Erickson does not actually confirm that the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 And Toy Story 4 The voice actor is part of the procedure, so the title of this article is somewhat misleading.
Regardless, I reached out to Apple to ask if they could confirm or deny whether Reeves had a small role in Breakupthe new chapter of. I will also update this article if I have a response.
