Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake an official visit to Qatar on February 23-24 at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, as well as other ministers and senior officials.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this visit reflects the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two countries and underlines their common commitment to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation.
During his stay in Doha, the Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar, covering the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including political engagement, economic collaboration, energy partnership and people-to-people exchanges.
The two sides will also explore new avenues of cooperation, including in the areas of trade, investment, energy, infrastructure development and labor exports.
Pakistan and Qatar enjoy a long-standing partnership marked by mutual trust and close coordination at regional and international forums, the statement added.
The visit will also be an opportunity for the two leaders to exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest and reaffirm their resolve to work together for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s previous visit to Doha was mainly aimed at participating in the emergency Arab-Islamic summit called in response to Israeli airstrikes on Qatar and the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
During his visit, he sought to rally Arab and Muslim unity against what he called Israeli aggression, proposed the formation of a joint Arab-Islamic task force and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza alongside a renewed push toward a two-state solution.
The trip also included high-level diplomatic engagements on the sidelines of the summit to coordinate regional responses and express Pakistan’s solidarity with Qatar.
