Imran taken to PIMS for treatment

He remained stable before, during and after the procedure, and was released with care instructions.

Incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan was brought to PIMS for follow-up eye treatment i.e. second dose of intravitreal injection of anti VEGF in the wee hours of Tuesday (today), a press release said.

Before the procedure, Imran was examined by a committee of specialists, including a consultant cardiologist who also performed an echocardiogram and ECG.

The results were found to be normal, the press release said, adding that Imran was found to be clinically stable.

“After obtaining informed consent and under observation, precautionary measures and standard protocols in the operating room, he received a second dose of intravitreal injection of Anti VEGF under the guidance of microscopy by a consultant ophthalmologist and a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon from PIMS and Al Shifa Eye Hospital,” the press release said, adding that “the procedure was performed as a day surgery.”

During his stay, Imran remained extremely stable before, during and after the procedure, and was discharged with care instructions, aftercare advice and documentation.
