ISLAMABAD:
Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of an alliance of opposition parties, condemned the conviction of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a corruption case, announcing that they would address all levels against the order of the court of accounts.
Addressing the media after a meeting with Awaam Pakistan Party chief Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the federal capital, Achakzai said the court’s verdict in the ₹190 million case was condemnable.
“The founder of the PTI [Imran Khan] can leave prison today by assuring the government that it will do nothing against him. However, we do not need such freedom. We will win this war thanks to public support,” the politician said.
