- Dyson Beauty offers a new limited edition color for its hair care gadgets
- It’s called “Apricot and Topaz Ceramic” and combines oranges and golds.
- Dyson calls it “The color of summer 2026”
Dyson has revealed a new look for its hair care tools. Taking inspiration from the summer solstice, the “Ceramic Apricot and Topaz” colorway combines vibrant tangerine shades, a soft apricot blush, and gold and pink accents. Dyson says the color combination captures “the astronomical, visual and psychological resonance of the longest, brightest day of the year.”
While this may be slightly oversold, I’m definitely a fan. Warm tones remind me of summer vacation and prepare me for lighter evenings and milder temperatures. (The announcement was particularly timely for me, as in the southwest of England we are just starting to see the first signs of spring, after what seems like months of heavy rain and gray skies.)
“In researching the solstice, we were inspired by mapping changes in daylight intensity, temperature and color spectrum,” explains Amelia Ayerst, Dyson CMF (Colors, Materials, Finish) team leader. “Using this data, we mixed pigments that mimic the higher wavelengths of visible light found at sunrise, noon, and sunset: warm apricots, bold oranges, and playful pinks.”
Apricot and bright orange are used for the main body of each styling tool, with metallic pink on the filter housing and touches of gold used for the buttons and switches. Amelia describes it as “a palette that radiates liberation, energy and celebration – bringing the outside in and representing the energetic dynamism of the sun.”
Dyson is rolling out its “color of summer 2026” across its hair care range, including the Airwrap multistyler, the Airstrait wet-to-dry straightener and the Supersonic Nural and Supersonic r hair dryers. The Dyson Corrale straightener is not shown in the press images and therefore may not be included.
It’s listed as a limited edition, but I expect it to stick around for at least a little while. The Jasper Plum and Red Velvet colorways were announced as limited editions in January 2025, but are still available to purchase now.
In the UK, the Ceramic Apricot and Topaz colorways will be available to purchase directly from Dyson and through Boots. Typically we see colorways rolling out internationally, but I don’t have details on availability in the US or Australia (although perhaps this can coincide with the arrival of summer in Australia).
