Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is planning a visit to Russia from March 3 to 5, Russian news agency RIA reported, citing a Pakistani official.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the visit was being prepared. The official RIA news agency said it would take place next week. Pakistan and Russia (former Soviet Union) established diplomatic relations on May 1, 1948.
The two countries enjoy close, friendly and cooperative relations. For much of history, the two countries remained in contained relations, notably during the Cold War.
