Saudi Arabia says it is ready to defend its brother states

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday strongly condemned Iranian missile attacks on US military bases in the Gulf and declared its readiness to defend its brother brothers as open conflict erupts in the Middle East.

Earlier in the day, the United States and Israel jointly launched strikes against Iran that pushed the Middle East into new military confrontation and further dampened hopes for a diplomatic solution to the West’s long-standing efforts to denuclearize Iran, despite Tehran’s repeated assertions that it would not seek nuclear weapons.

In response, Iran targeted Israel and US bases in the Middle East. Explosions were reported in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar.

In a statement, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned and denounced what it considers “blatant Iranian aggression and a blatant violation of the sovereignty” of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.

“The Kingdom affirms its full solidarity and unwavering support for brotherly countries, and its willingness to place all its capabilities at their disposal to support any measures they may undertake.”

Saudi Arabia also warned of serious consequences arising from continued violations of national sovereignty and violations of international law.

The Kingdom later condemned the attacks on its own areas of Riyadh and the east, adding that they had been repelled.

“These attacks cannot be justified under any circumstances or in any way, and they took place despite the knowledge of the Kingdom that the Kingdom had affirmed that it would not allow its airspace or territory to be used to target Iran. In light of this unjustified aggression, the Kingdom affirms that it will take all necessary measures to defend its security and protect its territory, citizens and residents, including the possibility of responding to the aggression.”

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry also called the Iranian missile attack “unacceptable” and said it posed a threat to regional peace and security.

He also expressed his deep condemnation of the violation of the sovereignty of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan, pledging to protect the brotherly states by all measures.

The UAE said the attacks were a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity and unwavering support for the regional countries affected by these attacks, emphasizing that their security is indivisible and that any attack on the sovereignty of any state constitutes a direct threat to the security and stability of the entire region.

“The UAE reaffirmed its categorical rejection of the use of territories of regional states as arenas to settle disputes or expand the scope of conflict, warning of the serious consequences of continued violations, which undermine regional and international security and threaten global economic stability and energy security.

“The United Arab Emirates reiterated its call for restraint and the use of diplomatic solutions and serious dialogue, stressing that this remains the most effective path to overcome the current crisis and safeguard regional security and stability,” said a statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He said the UAE retained its full and legitimate right to respond to attacks in a manner that preserved its sovereignty, national security and territorial integrity, and ensured the security of its citizens and residents, in accordance with international law.

“The UAE will under no circumstances tolerate any compromise on its security or sovereignty.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait also condemned the attacks, affirmed its full solidarity with the states affected by the attack and its support for all measures aimed at preserving their sovereignty, security and stability.

“The ministry confirms that the defenses of the State of Kuwait succeeded in repelling this aggression in accordance with the adopted operational procedures and in compliance with the rules of engagement in force, adding that the continuation of these aggressive military actions observed in the region will undermine regional security and stability.”

The Saudi crown prince then called on the leaders of the Gulf states, affirming Saudi Arabia’s full solidarity with them and declaring its unwavering support and willingness to put all its resources at their disposal to counter the aggression, which he said undermines regional security and stability.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation also condemned the attacks by Iran and called for an end to them.
