108 dead in Israeli strike on girls’ school in Iran

TEHRAN:

Iranian judiciary said the death toll from a Saturday US-Israeli strike that hit a school in the country’s south has risen to 108.

“The number of martyrs at Minab Girls’ School rose to 108,” the legal website Mizan Online cited the local prosecutor’s office as saying.

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian declared that “this barbaric act is a new black page in the record of countless crimes committed by the aggressors.”

The Iranian Red Crescent said Saturday evening that at least 201 people had been killed and 747 injured in the attacks.

Minab provincial governor Mohammad Radmehr confirmed to IRNA that the Shajareye Tayabeh school was directly attacked and many students were martyred.

He said rescue and aid operations were underway at the school, adding that the security situation in the town was under control.

Iran’s foreign minister vowed that “crimes against the Iranian people will not go unanswered.”
