The When We Were Young festival announces a break in 2026: “See you in 2027”

The When We Were Young festival takes place every October in Las Vegas

The When We Were Young festival is on hiatus this year.

Organizers of the Las Vegas-based emo and pop-punk festival announced via Instagram on February 27 that the event would end in 2026 – but stressed that the hiatus was only temporary.

“To our family When we were young,” the statement begins. “The songs, the memories, the moments – none of it exists without you. After an unforgettable tour in Las Vegas, we decided to take 2026 off to give this festival the attention it deserves and to make sure what comes next is just as special as what came before it.”

Although no specific reason was given for the hiatus, fans were reassured that the festival was not going anywhere. “When We Were Young Festival will return to Las Vegas in October 2027…It’s not goodbye, it’s just a break. We’ll see you again in 2027.”

Since its launch in 2022, the Live Nation-produced event has become a nostalgic pilgrimage for millennial music lovers, taking over the Las Vegas festival grounds every October. Past headliners include Green Day, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance and the Killers.

The 2025 edition featured Blink-182 and a reunited Panic! at the Disco, marking a rare return following the group’s breakup in 2023. In 2024, My Chemical Romance delivered a full performance of The black paradealongside a stacked lineup of stage favorites.
