Kelly Osbourne has hit back at online critics who commented on her appearance at the Brit Awards, where she and her mother Sharon accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her father Ozzy Osbourne.
She told those who attacked her that she was “going through the most difficult time” of her life.
Taking to her Instagram Story after Saturday night’s ceremony, Osbourne was direct and emotional in her response.
“There is a special kind of cruelty in hurting someone who is clearly going through something,” she wrote.
“Kicking me when I’m depressed, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning my back when I need support and love most. None of this proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character.”
She followed with an equally strong message.
“I’m going through the hardest time of my life right now. I shouldn’t even have to defend myself. But I’m not going to sit here and let myself be dehumanized like this!”
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025 at the age of 76, just two weeks after his farewell concert in Birmingham.
At the British, Kelly and Sharon took the stage to accept the award on his behalf.
After Ozzy’s death, Kelly spoke openly about the unpredictable nature of grief, describing it as a “strange thing” that “comes over you in waves.”
At the time, she wrote on Instagram: “I won’t be well for a while, but knowing that my family is not alone in our pain makes a difference. I hold tight to the love, the light and the legacy left behind.”
