- Motorola announced updates for its budget phones Moto G and Moto G Power
- The new handsets aim to offer an enhanced entertainment experience, with large screens and 5,000 mAh batteries.

Motorola has launched the recently refreshed budget smartphones Moto G and Moto G Power, bringing flagship features to very affordable handsets.
Both phones are updates to existing models, but in both cases they bring a number of high-quality features to very low prices. In fact, the new Moto G is just a few cents more than a quarter of the price of a new iPhone. 16.
The new Moto G features a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone sports a water-resistant design (not still IP index) which resembles the previous generation of Moto. G.
Coming to the internals, the phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a mid-range platform that also powers budget phones from Oppo and TCL. The Moto G also comes with a 50 MP primary camera and a 2 MP macro camera.
The Moto G Power is a slightly upgraded version of the Moto G, with a few choice upgrades. The screen increases from 6.7 inches to a 6.8-inch panel, and the phone has received dual IP68 and IP69 ratings, providing comprehensive protection against dust and water. It contains the same MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor as its little brother.
Additionally, the Moto G Power is MIL-STD-810H certified for durability, providing extensive protection against extreme temperatures and drops of more than three feet.
Additionally, the Moto G Power has an 8 MP ultra-wide camera alongside the 50 MP main and 2 MP macro cameras found on the standard Moto G.
Both phones have the same 5,000mAh battery capacity, with support for 30W wired charging (the Moto G Power also gets 15W wireless charging). Additionally, both phones have had their speaker systems retooled, with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, as well as proprietary bass-boosting technology, and both offer jack supporting 5G connectivity.
The Moto G launches on January 30 for a retail price of $199. The Moto G Power launches on February 6 for $299. We’ve contacted Motorola to check pricing and availability in the UK and Australia and will update this article in due course.
