The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Tuesday said former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan showed significant improvement in his vision after his second dose of intravitreal anti-VEGF injection.
“The results are encouraging. Her vision has improved remarkably and is at a noticeably good level at this stage,” read a statement released by PIMS.
He added that the examination of the PTI founder was held today at Adiala Prison, involving the following medical professionals: Dr. Nadeem Qureshi, Head of Vitreoretinal Department, Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, and Prof. Dr. Arif Khan, Head of Ophthalmology Department, PIMS, Islamabad.
The statement further said that the medical board conducted comprehensive tests including visual acuity checks, fundoscopy, slit lamp examinations and optical coherence tomography on both of Imran’s eyes.
“The board also made recommendations for further care, advising Imran to continue with the previously planned treatment regimen,” the statement said.
