ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has removed objection to the review petition regarding the conditions of detention of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder and directed the Registrar’s Office to schedule a hearing on Monday.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court dismissed the registrar’s office’s objection to the petition filed by the PTI founder’s legal team. Lawyers Faisal Farid Chaudhary and Bina Faraz appeared in court to present their case.
The court ordered the registrar’s office to process the matter expeditiously and set the hearing for Monday.
The petitioner demanded several measures, including weekly telephone calls with the children, access to books and newspapers and regular meetings with family members and legal representatives.
