- Division 2 now offers a limited-time Realism mode to celebrate 10 years of The Division
- The mode will be playable in the Warlords of New York expansion, which is free for all players for the four-week period of the anniversary season.
- A Special Event Pass with new rewards is also available to complete
Massive Entertainment celebrates the 10th anniversary of The division with a brand new game mode for Division 2.
To mark a decade of the Tom Clancy series, the studio launched a special four-week anniversary season in Division 2with new activities and rewards to be won every week.
This celebration includes the release of a new limited-time Realism mode, which allows players to experience the game “in a more hands-on and ruthless way, where every decision counts.”
Realism mode is a distinct character journey that plays out throughout the game. Warlords of New York an expansion that will be accessible to all Division 2 players for free during the anniversary season.
“At its core, it’s about immersion and tension. Combat is faster and deadlier for both agents and enemies. Mistakes carry weight, but victories are all the more satisfying,” Massive said in a new blog post. “You’ll notice that the interface has been scaled down, placing more emphasis on reading the world around you. Ammo is looted directly from defeated enemies, and while skills remain powerful, their longer cooldowns and increased risk make them tools best saved for critical moments.
“Equipment and weapon bonuses reflect the physical nature of what you wear, with heavier pieces providing increased protection at the expense of mobility, while lighter equipment favors speed and flexibility at the expense of survivability.”

After completing the campaign, players can continue to explore and replay the content.
The Anniversary Season also introduced a limited-time event pass offering new rewards to earn. Players will need to progress through the pass by completing activities and earning Season Pass XP which naturally advances levels. Global Event Stars can also be used to speed up progression.
Some of the free rewards include Cell burst, Ghost RecognitionAnd Seat skins, two weapons, two gear packs and 12x caches. The Premium selection offers alternatives Cell burst, Ghost RecognitionAnd Seat skins, as well as 20x caches.
Realism mode and the anniversary season have already started, so Division 2 players will have until April 1 to try it out and earn these rewards.
