Ubisoft has shared new details about the future of Assassin’s Creed franchise, providing details on Hex, Invcitus, Jadeand more, while announcing a new 60 frames per second (fps) update for Assassin’s Creed Unit.
In a new blog post, Jean Guesdon, head of content for the series, confirmed that the studio will soon end the series. Shadows of Assassin’s Creed updates as he focuses on his next major projects.
These include Codename Hexewhich was announced in 2022 and is built by a team of veteran Assassin’s Creed developers at Ubisoft Montreal.
Guesdon, who recently took over as creative director of the project, said fans can expect a “unique, darker, narrative-driven” film. Assassin’s Creed experience, which takes place at a pivotal moment in history”, but is not yet ready to share more details.
“We’re taking the time to realize our ambitious vision, which means we’ll be quiet for a little longer, but we love seeing all the excitement across our channels and can’t wait to reveal more when the time is right,” he said.
As for Codename Invictusa PvP multiplayer experience led by a team of For honor veterans, development is “progressing steadily with a test-and-learn approach.”
Guesdon acknowledged the curiosity surrounding the project, explaining that it’s a new approach to multiplayer in the franchise, “but it’s not quite what the rumors suggest.”
The developer was apparently referring to reports dating back to 2024, which claimed the game was inspired by Fall Guys and offers several game modes.
“By putting player feedback at the heart of our approach, we are exploring ways to engage the community earlier so we can shape the experience together,” Guesdon added. “The team is incredibly passionate about what they’re building, and their work reflects our broader goal of delivering a greater variety of experiences within the Assassin’s Creed universe.”

Beyond Hex And InvictusUbisoft is also working on “several other projects”, which are “all in different stages of development”, including Assassin’s Creed Jadea mobile game first revealed in 2022.
Guesdon also confirmed that the studio was bringing the co-op back into the series, saying it was “a detail that we know hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
He also appears to have addressed the canceled question Assassin’s Creed cooperative multiplayer game, reportedly originally developed as a Shadows of Assassin’s Creed downloadable content (DLC), saying “the lessons from this work are already helping to shape our approach for the future.”
Along with these new updates, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced was officially announced after months of rumors, and a free 60 FPS patch for Assassin’s Creed Unit will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Multiple Assassin’s Creed The games will also be playable for free on Xbox for a limited time during Xbox Free Play Days, April 2-6.
“Finally, continuing to support our older games is important to us. We know how much these titles mean to many of you and that they are often the first entry point for new players discovering the franchise,” Guesdon said.
“We know some of you have been waiting for this for a long time, so get ready to relive 18th-century Paris and Arno’s sophisticated parkour moves with greater fluidity on consoles.”
