- Resonant control won’t let you play Jesse Faden, Remedy confirms
- Remedy says: ‘It’s Dylan’s experience,’ but Jesse will still have an ‘important role’ in the game
- “I just wanted to put it out there because we don’t want to mislead players,” said Remedy’s communications director.
Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that ControlThe main character, Jesse Faden, will not be playable in Resonant control.
This is according to Remedy’s communications director, Thomas Puha, who told Eurogamer during a digital preview event that Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother and protagonist of Resonantwill be the only playable character.
“I just want to put that out of the way, because we’ve seen a lot of speculation online,” Puha said, adding that Remedy usually likes to see speculation about its games, but “in this case, I want to confirm that Jesse Faden is not a playable character in Resonant control“.
However, even though Jesse won’t be playable, the developer said she will play an “important role” alongside Dylan in the sequel.
I mean, she was in the trailer, so she plays a big role in the game, but she’s not playable,” Puha said, without going into detail. “It’s really Dylan’s experience. I just wanted to put it out there because we don’t want to mislead players. »
Resonant control will launch this year on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
As previously mentioned, you play as Dylan Faden, who must hunt a powerful enemy echoing through a warped Manhattan.
Like his sister, Dylan also possesses supernatural abilities, but will use a shapeshifting weapon called the Aberrant and prioritize hand-to-hand combat.
Remedy described Resonant as an action role-playing game (RPG) without inventory management, but insists: “It is not a soul game.”
“This is a dynamic, action-oriented action game with an aggressive playstyle. The player is truly in control and not. [simply] react. The main driver of combat is you,” said Sergey Mohov, lead gameplay designer.
