- The OnePlus 15T was teased before its full launch
- It is configured to contain a 7,500 mAh “Glacier” battery that uses silicon-carbon technology
- I loved the battery on the 15R, and this one is even bigger
When I review a phone, I look at all of its specs the same, but for my own device, I always look for one with a giant battery. I have charging anxiety and hate phones that drain quickly. So the next OnePlus phone seems to be right up my street.
The OnePlus 15T is an upcoming affordable version of the OnePlus 15, which we gave a perfect five-star rating, and ahead of its launch the company has confirmed plenty of specs. It appears to be a bit more premium than the other version of the 15, the 15R, based on these stats.
Thanks to a Weibo post from OnePlus President Li Jie Louis, we now know that the OnePlus 15T will have 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, slim bezels, an IP69K rating, a periscope zoom camera, and, most importantly for me, a 7,500mAh “Glacier” battery. That’s more than twice the capacity of the iPhone 17, if you’re wondering.
What we don’t know yet is exactly when the OnePlus 15T will launch. But from my past experience with the brand, I know it will be on my wish list whenever it appears.
Analysis: Why I love the ’15
I spent about two months testing the OnePlus 15R and moved to another phone only because the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra was launched and I had to test it.
The phone had a 7,400mAh battery, so the 15T will be even bigger, and the power brick was perhaps the biggest selling point of this Android.
During the testing process, when I used the phone above average, it easily lasted a day, even if I was testing its gaming prowess or taking a lot of photos.
And after the review timeout, when I was just using it as a normal phone, it reliably lasted two days on a single charge. I don’t think this has happened on any other phone, because before 5G, battery consumption was a thing.
In fact, I’ve gotten out of the habit of daily, or even regular, phone charging sessions. The OnePlus 15R has 80W of power, so I plug it in for a few minutes every few days when I remember to run it.
This turned out to be horrible when I started testing the Ultra, which doesn’t last very long, as I had gotten used to multi-day battery life. I had gotten out of the habit of regularly plugging in my phone and had a few sub-10% scares before I relearned that I can’t just plug in my phone once every few days and hope for the best.
I had to relearn how to use my phone for the Galaxy, so I’m really looking forward to forgetting about it again when the OnePlus 15T probably comes out very soon.
