Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, on Sunday visited senior officials of the Pakistan Navy to discuss regional security and bilateral cooperation in matters of defence.
General Hassan met with Pakistani Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Abdul Munib; Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin; and Director General of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS&EW), Rear Admiral Salman Ilyas.
The meetings were aimed at strengthening professional ties and discussing issues of mutual interest, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Public Relations (Pak Navy).
During his visit, General Hassan also visited the ships and units of the Pakistan Navy. The discussions focused on strengthening regional maritime security and deepening defense collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Potential areas of cooperation were explored, including joint military exercises, reciprocal visits and training exchange programs. The visit is seen as an important step towards strengthening defense relations between the two countries.
The ongoing engagements are expected to further strengthen ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Bangladesh, thereby helping to strengthen defense ties in the region.
