Buckingham Palace shares update amid mystery of King Charles’ US tour

There appears to be tension between the Palace and Downing Street as major projects have been put on hold due to major conflict.

Although the situation in the world does not seem conducive to conducting state visits, sources have shared their views on a deeper problem brewing between the two crucial entities in the United Kingdom.

It has been reported that the King and Queen Camilla are due to travel to the United States by the end of the month for a three-day visit to coincide with the celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

However, an American source revealed to Daily Mail that the full plans and details of the trip had not been formalized and that they were running out of time.

“It is very late for these details to be made official. Apart from Day 1 in Washington and Day 2 in New York, no timetable seems to have been decided yet,” said the American source.

Additionally, the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor last month also “jeopardized” the visit.

It was already a slimmed-down version of Queen Elizabeth II’s bicentenary tour in 1976. All details took into account the monarch’s health as he underwent cancer treatment.

Therefore, the schedule was carefully crafted by Palace aides. According to a Palace source, “planning and preparation are underway for a possible visit in late spring, but the government has the final say.”

The Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “No state visits have been confirmed and all state visits take place on the advice of the government.”

Meanwhile, a Downing Street source claimed “this is a Buckingham Palace matter”.

There appears to be some contradiction since the government approves the state visit and only then does the palace begin preparations. It remains to be seen how things develop as the international community focuses its attention on de-escalating the conflict between the United States and Iran.
