RAWALPINDI:

Security forces killed 13 terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in a series of five Intelligence-Based Operations (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Sunday.

According to the ISPR, security forces carried out ISIS attacks against Fitna al-Khwarij – a term used for the TTP – as part of a relentless counter-terrorism campaign. The PCI intervened as part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, carried out against the Afghan Taliban.

During an IBO in Bajaur district, the ISPR said, security forces actually engaged a “Khwarij location and after an intense exchange of fire, five Khwarij were sent to hell.” In two other clashes in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts, three Khwarij were neutralized, the statement added.

“During two separate engagements in Khyber and South Waziristan districts, our own troops neutralized five more Khwarij. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the Indian-sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in many terrorist activities in the region,” it said.

Following the operations, the ISPR said disinfection operations were underway “to eliminate any further Indian-sponsored Kharji found” in the area. “Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute and steadfast in their commitment to defend the country’s borders.”

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated security forces for their successful operations against Fitna al-Khwarij in KP. They said the security forces were achieving major successes against terrorists due to a well-organized plan.

In a statement, the president praised the professionalism of the security forces for successfully carrying out the operations. He stressed that these actions against Fitna al-Khwarij were crucial for maintaining peace throughout the country.

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz also congratulated the security forces for successfully carrying out the PCI. He said the forces were achieving major successes against terrorists through a well-organized strategy.

The Prime Minister said the entire nation strongly supports the Pakistan Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism. “We will not rest until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country,” he said.
