Meghan Markle joined Princess Kate and thousands of women around the world to mark a special occasion with a heartfelt appeal.
On March 8, the Duchess of Sussex released a statement to celebrate “the strength, resilience and achievements of women” on International Women’s Day.
On the Sussexes’ official website, Meghan urged people to show up for women in the communities around them.
Speaking about her mission and that of Prince Harry’s Archewell Philanthropies, the former working royal spokesperson said: “We are proud to support organizations that provide safety, housing and essential support to women rebuilding their lives.”
Meghan said she felt honored to support such initiatives, aimed at providing “stability, dignity and opportunity” to disadvantaged women and their families.
His team mentioned a list of some organizations receiving support from Archewell.
At the end of her emotional message, Meghan stressed that we need to support women throughout the year and not just “once a year.”
Appealing to her fans, Archie and Liliber’s mother said: “If you’re looking for a way to show up for women, consider supporting a shelter or organization in your own community.”
It’s important to mention that Meghan commemorated Women’s Day after she and Netflix announced the end of their partnership for As Ever.
