- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 set a new all-time concurrent Steam record
- The number of game players has almost doubled since 2019
- The series is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary with all new content
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 eclipsed its own record for concurrent players on Steam during the series’ 10th anniversary celebration.
As reported by Eurogamer, this weekend, Division 2 has seen a massive increase in players on Valve’s PC platform, nearly doubling its previous peak of 14,858 players, and now sits at a new concurrent all-time high of 27,482 players, according to SteamDB. Figures may also change after this article is published.
This is the highest player count since the game’s launch in 2019 and is apparently attributed to the series’ 10th anniversary celebration season, which kicked off earlier this month.

The four-week anniversary season runs through April 1 and includes the new limited-time Realism mode, which lets players experience the game “in a more hands-on, unforgiving way, where every decision counts.”
Realism mode runs throughout the game. Warlords of New York expansion, which is also now available to everyone Division 2 players for free during the anniversary season.
A new limited-time Event Pass has also been added, offering new rewards in exchange for completing a series of activities.
In addition to this, Massive Entertainment has also laid out a roadmap for Division 2. Other seasons have been confirmed, including the first, Rise upwhich is scheduled to arrive in April and will feature new challenges in addition to new rewards, equipment, weapons and much more.
The upcoming season will also feature PvP balance and content updates, expanded cross-play on consoles and PC, a new Incursion, new Ranked Missions, and a new Central Park expansion.
Closed testing has also started for Survivors, Division 2the next extraction game mode.
Elsewhere, The Division 3 is now in active development at Massive Entertainment. The game was led by executive producer Julian Gerighty before his departure in January. Creative directors Yannick Banchereau and Mathias Karlson are still working on the project, as well as Division 2.
