- Nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards have been announced
- Chiaroscuro: Expedition leads with 12 nominations in 17 categories
- Shipping, Yotei’s GhostAnd Death Stranding 2: On the Beach are also in the running with nine, eight and seven awards respectively
BAFTA has announced the nominations for the 22nd BAFTA Games Awards 2026, celebrating a total of 42 games across 17 categories.
Among the 42 games, that of Sandfall Interactive Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 is up for the most awards, receiving 12 nominations in categories including Best Game, Debut Game, Game Design, Storytelling, and more.
ShippingAdhoc Studio’s workplace superhero comedy, which was notably absent from last year’s Game Awards despite being a gamer favorite, follows behind Chiaroscuro with nine nominations, followed by Yotei’s Ghost with eight, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with seven, six for Indiana Jones and the Great Circleand five for Arc Raiders.

Nine of the 12 nominees in the performance categories receive their first BAFTA nominations, including Ben Starr, Charlie Cox, Jennifer English and Kirsty Rider for Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33, Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright for Shipping, Erika Ishii for Ghost of Yōtei, Tom McKay for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Alix Wilton Regan for Lies of P: Opening.
In total, 17 studios are nominated for the first time this year, including six in the Debut Game category. In addition to the featured games, other titles in the running for a BAFTA include Atom FallBall x Pit, Battlefield 6, Blue Prince, Donkey Kong Bananza, Night Reign of the Elder Ring, Hades 2, Helldiverse 2Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2and more.
“Today’s nominations recognize 42 exceptional games that showcase the best of the global games industry,” said Tara Saunders, chair of the BAFTA games committee. “This year’s nominations reflect an industry in the midst of transformation – with a dynamic mix of established studios alongside a diverse range of independent studios and a number of development teams earning nominations for the first time.
“The exceptional craftsmanship, artistry and innovation behind these titles shines through. A nomination is an extraordinary achievement, and I extend my warmest congratulations to each nominee for their innovation, hard work and resilience.
This year, the annual ceremony will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, London, on April 17, 2026, but fans will be able to watch the broadcast live on the BAFTA YouTube channel.
