- Garmin has released its latest public beta
- Update includes strength and body battery improvements for Garmin users
- It also includes a significant fix for heart rate zones on the Forerunner lineup.
Garmin recently released the latest public beta for all of Garmin’s best watches, and a patch for Forerunner models might be enough to encourage users to download it themselves.
Public beta 22.14 began rolling out to devices this month. While it brings a significant body battery and strength training upgrade to some models, the company has since confirmed that it also contains a vital fix for its Forerunner models and heart rate zones.
In its release notes, the company says that version 22.14 includes a fix for potential crashes when editing HR zones. More importantly, it says it fixed an incorrect time issue in HR zones and an incorrect heart zones issue.
Naturally, faulty HR zones are not a malady that you would expect from the best running watches on the market. So, if you are having issues with your Forerunner, you may want to consider signing up for the public beta so you can get this latest fix.
Garmin’s Forerunner fix
This fix was released for the Garmin Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 955, and 965. Versions 265 and 965 also include a fix for missing app icons in the notification eye. If you’re experiencing HR zone issues on your Forerunner, you can sign up for the public beta on the Garmin website or wait for the full rollout.
As noted, the new beta also includes a host of exciting new features that Garmin users can expect later this quarter.
Garmin adds strength workouts to its running and cycling programs so you can supplement endurance training with strength work. It also brings its TrueUp functionality to Body Battery, so your score will be based on measurements and data from multiple devices if you have them.
One of the biggest new features quietly added to this release is the introduction of passcodes to select Garmin watches, specifically the Fenix 8, Enduro 3, the aforementioned Forerunners, Venu 3, and Vivoactive 5.
