NCAA gymnastics national champion Olivia Dunne realized that maybe she wasn’t “cut out” to watch her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, throw with huge stakes.

Skenes was on the mound for Team USA to start its World Baseball Classic semifinal game against the Dominican Republic. He allowed a homer to Junior Caminero, but tied up and didn’t allow another run to cross home plate.

In the fourth inning, the Dominican Republic had a good chance to get more points on the board with the bases loaded. Skenes called wide receiver Austin Wells to fly out, ending the threat.

Dunne posted a video to his TikTok page, showing himself nervously watching Skenes perform his magic.

“When someone says they’re stressed but they’ve never seen their man get out of a bases loaded jam representing the United States,” she captioned the video screen.

Dunne added in the comments that she would have loved to play.

ā€œI’m not cut out for this,ā€ she added in the caption.

Skenes lasted 4.1 innings and struck out two batters. He allowed one run on six hits and earned the victory for his efforts. The United States won the game 2-1 and will advance to the World Baseball Classic final against either Italy or Venezuela.

The Pittsburgh Pirates star is done pitching in the World Baseball Classic and can now focus on his club team. He is coming off a National League Cy Young Award-winning season.
